A Patron is one person, or a group of people
who commit to helping a troubled inner-city Catholic school provide a
value-based education for students. Patrons donate funds or in-kind products/services of at least $100,000
annually for three years.
Through the Patrons
Program, the Big Shoulders Fund aims to transform inner-city
Catholic schools into vibrant, financially stable organizations.
The Patrons Program matches a Patron, often an individual,
company, or foundation, with an inner-city Catholic school. Working
with the school’s leadership, a Patron assembles an advisory board
with an eye toward creating a three-year business strategy that
identifies, prioritizes, and addresses a Patron school's challenges, opportunities,
and road to success.

Now in its sixth year
of existence, the Patrons Program has made substantial progress in
positively affecting the quality of education available in Chicago’s
inner-city, especially for children who otherwise would not be able to
afford a private education.
The Big Shoulders Fund is actively soliciting new partners to
continue building this successful program.

educational system through our partnerships with corporate and
business leaders and make a significant difference in the lives of the
thousands of inner-city youth who depend on us.”
