Interested in Becoming a Leader in Chicago's inner-city Catholic schools?

The Big Shoulders Fund is looking for promising individuals to become Principals in Big Shoulders Fund-supported schools!  Big Shoulders will sponsor exceptional individuals to work towards a Master's degree and certification in Educational Leadership at a participating Catholic university.  To date, Big Shoulders has agreements in place with five local Catholic universities:  DePaul, Dominican, Loyola, Notre Dame and St. Xavier.

Big Shoulders is offering the following to leadership candidates that meet the Archdiocese of Chicago's Principal qualifications (located at http://schools.archchicago.org/public/emp_administrative.shtm):

• Funding for university program costs;
• Ongoing training, mentoring and support specifically geared toward the needs of inner-city Catholic school Principals; and
• Support through programs focused on preparing candidates to be dynamic Catholic school leaders, as well as a leadership community that will host events (e.g. quarterly Masses, dinners, etc.).

Participating degree candidates must commit to seeking employment as an administrator in a Big Shoulders-supported school, and remain in one of the schools that Big Shoulders supports for an extended time period.
