The Big Shoulders Fund provides various mentoring opportunities for interested parties (mentoring in the Big Shoulders concept is meeting with a student(s) bi-monthly at the school site).  It is not so much to help a student in a particular subject area, but to provide a positive role model and adult interaction with students who might not typically enjoy these types of relationships.  Currently there are a number of scholarships that have a mentoring component.  Each of these scholarships are slightly different and there are opportunities to mentor scholars in both elementary and high school.  Big Shoulders is also more than willing to work with individuals who prefer a more intensive one-on-one tutor/mentor relationship.  Please contact Tom Zbierski, Director of School Relations, if you are interested in a mentoring opportunity.
