Michael Polsky is a leading clean energy industry entrepreneur and innovator. In 2001, Polsky founded Invenergy, which provides power generation and storage solutions around the world that are creating a cleaner energy future. Invenergy, headquartered in Chicago, is North America’s largest independent, privately-held renewables company. Between 1985 and 2000, Polsky founded and led two predecessor companies to Invenergy – Indeck Energy Services and SkyGen Energy – that helped pioneer the independent power generation and cogeneration industries.
Polsky’s philanthropic reflect his passions for entrepreneurship and energy innovation. He endowed the Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and co-founded the nonprofit startup accelerator Clean Energy Trust. He also serves on the boards of World Resources Institute and University of Chicago.
Polsky holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Kiev Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
